The Daring Bakers, fresh off the Lemon Meringue Pie challenge, are ready to tackle bread. And not just any bread: Julia Child’s French Bread.
What can I say. I have a weakness for bread. The yeastier, the better. Nothing makes me feel more domestic than kneading a loaf of bread… with my stand mixer while I sit at the kitchen island flipping through a magazine. I call it “delegation.”

It’s Tuesday and my biscuits are square. On purpose. And laziness is only part of the reason.
This week’s edition of Tuesdays With Dorie is brought to you by Ashley of Eat Me Delicious. Ashley selected Dorie’s Pecan Sour Cream Biscuits – a welcome change from the previous weeks’ confections. And being a Southern Dorista, I sure can appreciate a good homemade biscuit!
Wedge of goodness

“You’ll be so proud of me. I ordered lettuce on my hamburger at lunch today.”
Aaahhh. The ongoing adventure of trying to get my husband to eat more plants. And for the record, I was extremely proud of him. Even more so when he responded, “Let’s eat a salad,” when I ask him what he wanted for dinner.
Light, crisp, and fresh, wedge salads are currently one of our favorite weekend lunches. Iceberg lettuce gets a bad rap for being decidedly un-gourmet but try to dress a BLT with anything else. It’s not my favorite salad green but it’s crisp and crunch definitely makes iceberg my favorite dressing green. And it’s one of the few green things that my husband will eat voluntarily.
