Muffin Mania

Two days, two batches. That’s how much my husband liked these muffins.
No, we didn’t eat 6 muffins each for breakfast. There were muffins for breakfast for us and our house guest friends, and perhaps I snagged one for a mid-morning snack. Then there was an after work snack or two and most definitely a midnight snack. And just like that, my husband was out of his new favorite muffins.

Ask and ye shall receive
That is how my husband eats his pancakes. With a fried egg on top. I think it is the weirdest thing in the world, but I’m really not one to throw the word “weird” around, ‘specially when you see my favorite breakfast. Trying to rationalize his breakfast habits is as difficult as trying to convince someone that chocolate gravy really is good.
On Beans, Bleu Cheese, and Bacon

Margarita fixins? Check!
Gallon baggie of frozen cookie dough balls? Check!
Bacon and Bleu Cheese Cake? Check (okay, almost… it will be “Check” this morning)
Corkscrew? Check!
Wine? …Believe me when I say check!
Hummus? …Hummus? DARN IT. I have to go back to the grocery store.
Disaster preparation is fun. Getting several days’ notice of an impending storm sure is nice. You have plenty of time to pick up necessities from the store, fill your gas tanks, and make sure the patio furniture is in the garage. It also makes for some entertaining TV, though I’m not yet ready to forgive the local drama queens for preempting All My Children and One Life to Live more than 48 hours before Ike is expected to make landfall. How many times can you watch normal waves run up the beach and lap at a reporters ankles?
